The Beatles In Germany 1960 - 1962 (The Early Years)
Before the Beatles became popular they were just another band trying to survive in the tough German rock & roll scene.
At that time Indorock bands such as the Tielman Brothers, the Black Dynamites, Oety and his Real Rockers, the Travel Five and the Crazy Rockers were the hottest acts around and got paid alike.
Bands such as the Beatles were mainly in the audience watching and learning.
Learning the trade of combining true musicianship with entertainment from the best of that era.
"Mach Schau" is what those Germans called it back in the days.
The Beatles proved to be fast learners and eventually would become bigger than life.
But none of this would have ever been possible without their earliest years of learning the trade in Germany.
That's were they learned it all and got their first chance to make records as a backing band for Tony Sheridan from the Jets.
Here's some nice examples of early Beatles in Germany.
1-Cry For A Shadow Early instrumental recording written and composed by George Harrison and John Lennon.
2-Lend Me your Comb Recorded live in 1962 Hamburg, Germany.
By this time the Beatles had already learned the trade, but success still seemed far away for this band.
Enjoy!
