MASONIC SYMBOLISM & INTEGRAL LEARNING

Manly P. Hall offers his expert research regarding the Secret Language of Symbolism as recorded by Albert Pike in his book, Morals & Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry prepared for the Supreme Council of the Thirty Third Degree for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States, Charleston, 1871.

Symbols were NEVER meant to have a specific meaning or definition as that would be the definition of a dogma or a closed-minded way of thinking. Symbols lead to an ever deepening or expanding awareness of what ever is contemplated. Knowledge is most effectively received by revelation, by vision, by intuition, by insight, by experience, etc. and not by assumption or hear-say.

Symbols tend to represent that which can not be seen directly in the physical like an atom. We can perform experiments and gradually understand the general nature of what an atom "might" be but we have yet to take a photograph of it. The concept of "God" is a symbol or metaphor for multiple experienceable phenomena and is not a specifically-defined thing in and of itself. People who argue about Spirituality demonstrate their ignorance of such a concept.

Sound combinations also became symbols.

The "Creator" being the earlier (ancient) assemblage of a series of symbols that enabled communication between those whom understood them. Even though different individuals from different cultures participated in the creation of the symbols, the more symbols that were created the more "intelligence" could be "communicated" and thereby "taught" or "raised-up." Therefore, it was the concept of "intelligence" ITSELF via symbolic representation that enabled the recognition of intelligence in others.

There are levels of subtle complexity that if you do not allow yourself to be open to recognizing them, for yourself versus having someone else needing to point them out to you, then you are not "ready" to understand them much less use them to benefit yourself and humanity. This could be because of your still having ego, envy, greed, assumptive tendency, etc.

The tricky thing is that only your own "essential" (or Integral) self can initiate you into the higher realms of conscious awareness and true "power." No human being can "give" you anything truly worthwhile so it is of no use to try to FORCE someone else to give you something that you do not deserve since they have nothing to really offer you anyway. Does this make any sense to anyone?
