Orders Rosicrucians (Part 1 of 2)
In this post the idea is to enumerate the different Rosicrucian orders. We recommend you read the previous article for a better understanding. Below is a list of the most notable groups are ordered by the probable date of its foundation.
The Elder Brothers of the Rosicrucian (Les Freres de la NSAIDs Rose-Croix)
Foundation: 1316
Always very discreet in their activities, their formation date in 1316 and is directly linked to the myth of the Templars. Without going into great detail, we can say that emerged from some members emigrated to Scotland and regrouped under a new banner, recognizing the name of NSAIDs Frères de la Rose-Croix .Alchemy was his most important work. Its headquarters are located in Paris allegedly only 33 official members.Still, there are several lines advocating the same origin in Paris. Roger Caro is the chief of the Continental Group, and is also the head of a Gnostic Church affiliate called L'Eglise de la Nouvelle Alliance (The Church of the New Covenant).

Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA)
Foundation: 1860-1865
Founded by Freemason Robert Wentworth Little (1840-1878), he claimed to have found some Rosicrucian documents derived from authentic order. Despite his Rosicrucian design, the SRIA operates as an alternative tailored to the Masons. One of its key members, was Kenneth Mackenzie (1833-1886), who helped in the management of the company, however, Mackenzie contact Apponyi Conde (1846-1933) of Austria-Hungary, claims to have received an official lineage. The most likely source was Societas Rosicruciana in Scotiagradually been asleep at the end of the last century. SRIA is originally a study group, and does not perform rituals. She spread abroad, which has a body in Canada under British jurisdiction, with the name of Societas Rosicruciana in canadiensis between outos. Similarly, in Pennsylvania, a letter was given in 1879 to settle in the United States. A little later, the Canadian branch was called by the honorable Freemason Albert Pike, to found a subsidiary in the USA, without knowing the already existing branch arising from the UK, these two distinct efforts of running the SRIA in America, were not very successful . Soon one of them gradually closed, while the other still exists under the name Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus foederati . SRIA's still have their headquarters in England, and have kept a low profile, only offering a membership of Master Mason (third degree in the store blue). Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis was founded in Pennsylvania in 1879, also open to Master Masons. Many members of the American SRIA joined her, especially after the dissent in the group. At first, they sought permission from the SRIA English, but not as obteveram response, they turned to the Rosicrucian Society in Scotland, who finally accepted the request. American bodies in this society founded a Supreme Council in 1880, with the name of Societas Rosicruciana Republicae Americae .He has been working according to the original constitution, and still exists. In 1980 had a total of 17 stores with only 773 members, but now has expanded participation in the USA a few thousand. Currently in friendship with the SRIA and SRIS.

Kabbalistic Order of the Rosy Cross (Kabbalistique Ordre de la Rose Croix - OKRC)
Foundation: 1888
Founded in Paris, with Marquis Stanislas de Guaita (1861-1897) as the first Grand Master. He had a board of 12 members, six of them were unknown "so that the order could be resuscitated in the event of corruption."There has been much speculation about the strains of this order, and both Alphonse Louis Constant (Eliphas Levi) (1810-1875) as Lord Edward George Bulwer-Lytton (1803-1873) were mentioned as links to the first brothers, and other lesser known strains have also been mentioned. Moreover, the admirable physician, Gerard Vincent Encauss Anaclet (Papus) (1865-1916) is said to be possessed of the original Rosicrucian connections. Papus and Levi seem to have been involved in a strain containing people like Charles Nodier, Golitzyn Conde and even Napoleon. However, it is certain that the older generations of French occultists have had some influence on their cultural successors, such as Saint-Yves d 'Alveydre (1842-1909) and his concept of "Synarchy", something that even Rudolph Steiner had adopted in their own theories. OKRC also attended the FUDOSI, and the order continued to operate independently after its dissolution. It still exists and co-operates to some degree with the Order of the Rites of Memphis-Misraim and Martinist Order (Paris).

Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn - HOGD)
Foundation: 1888
It was founded by Masons and members of the SRIA. The HOGD was established by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (1854-1918), William Robert Woodman (1828-1891) and William Wynn Westcott (1848-1925), and they were all initiates of the SRIA also. The Rosicrucian connection was allegedly through a mysterious adept German - Anna Sprengel - whom they came into contact once you have found some old manuscripts that belonged to his school. Some researchers have noted a possible relationship between HOGD Fratres Lucis and Asian brothers, of whom one of their modern descendants is the Hermetic Brotherhood of Light. Anyway, the HOGD became a remarkable success, and attracted many prominent people of his time, such as Arthur Edward Waite (1857-1942), Mina Bergson (sister of Henri), Edward Munch, August Strindberg, Rider Haggard, RF Felkin, "Aleister" Edward Alexander Crowley (1875-1947), William Butler Yeats (1865-1939), Allan Bennett, Bram Stoker, William Alexander Ayton, Frederick Leigh Gardner, Florence Farr and many more. HOGD What is the source for most of the modern occult ritual magic blooming in today's market, this order also worked the Rosicrucian degrees classics, as well as the Societas Rosicrucian and other groups, but it was structured with an internal order, called Rosae Crucis Rubeæ & Aureæ . The HOGD culminated in several schisms between the period 1903-1918, which originated many of the independent temples. Most members continued their work under the name Stella Matutina temple that was directed by RW Felkin and JW Brodie Innes. Members of the Temple of Isis-Urania continued work under the name of Alpha & Omega , but this branch was asleep in the thirties. Waite created the Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross and later also an internal order, Ordo Rosae et Sanctissimus Aureæ Crucis , which is now only open to Master Masons, yet originally admitting women and non-Masons. Crowley founded his argentinum Astrum inspired by the internal order of Hodgkin and structured as a school of spiritual formation. Dion Fortune (Violet Mary Firth) (1890-1946) was initiated in several of the surviving temples of HOGD, but she went on to create his own group, the Society of the Inner Light (Society of the Inner Light). This group was divided after his death due to a fundamental dispute over how much influence the teachings of Theosophy and others should have the content of their doctrines. A large number of people who chose to continue working with the "pure" Western tradition of mystery and ceremonial magic, and thus was born the Servants of the Light(Servants of the Light). This is much less reactionary than its predecessor, which still exists but does not apply for membership outside the UK. Some known members are William Ernest Butler, Gareth Knight, JH Brennan, WGGray and its current leader Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki. One of the most Thelemic orders not successful today. Francis Israel Regardie (1907-1985) was also started on a HOGD temple, and later published some of their material and their own experiences. Several groups calling themselves modern HOGD are headed by people who were initiated by Regardie. But there are also some modern orders of those who did not have physical contact with the original HOGD or their descendants, but were invented based on published material HOGD Regardie and others. There are other groups (France and UK), which are direct descendants of HOGD, but does not apply that name anymore. Variations of this name was used by the Austrian group headed by Edward Munninger, the team led by Theodor Reuss order (which may be identical to Papus Ordo Rose-Croix Esoterique Reuss who was a German representative), AMORC headed by Harvey S. Lewis, the Continental Hiernoymous order headed by Sar and so forth. None of these groups are related to HOGD groups (although some common sources). The similarity of the names and rites used by many neo-Rosicrucian groups, is due to the existence of influential former European OARRAC of 17 and 18 The influence that had HOGD in modern Western traditions, can not be underestimated century, and the whole phenomenon is now legendary, resulting in dozens of books written about him.

Order of the Rose Cross Catholic and Aesthetics, and the Temple of the Grail (l'Ordre de la Rose Croix Catholique et Esthetique, du Temple et du Graal - CRC)
Established: 1890
Created by Joséphin Péladan (1858-1918), who was a founder of OKRC, but received an ancient lineage of his older brother Adrien Péladan (homeopath and associated Hahnemann), who had received at Toulouse, 1858 (possibly the same as HS Lewis in 1909). Péladan claimed he would perpetuate the work and thus challenged the authority of his companion Guaita. Guaita and several OKRC members tried in vain to convince Péladan to give up, but as it was out of the question, a schism was inevitable. Most members of OKRC was loyal and devoted to Guaita order. Péladan had higher ambitions, however, the CRC was not just a place for esoteric training, but also worried about the activities involving science, culture, music, theater and the arts. Péladan collaborated with many famous musicians and artists of the time as Gustav Moreau, Stravinsky, Claude Debussy, Félicien Rops, Georges Rouault and Erik Satie. He was also very famous for many of his eccentric statements, habits and customs. CRC propagated some kind of Christian esotericism and Péladan even postulated that he discovered the lost tomb of Jesus. In his last days, he traveled throughout Europe, speaking about his philosophy. After the death of Péladan in 1916, the CRC was reorganized by some of his disciples, and different branches emerged. Gary continued Lacroze of the order in France, another of disicpulo Péladan, Jacques Brasilier also organized a group of survivors, and Belgium OKRC some members met with the remains of the CRC. All of them still exist, and some other groups also claim this origin.

Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO)
Foundation : 1895
Originally founded by Carl Kellner (1850-1905), Heinrich Klein (? -1913) And Franz Hartmann (1838-1912).Albert Karl Theodor Reuss Willsson (1855-1923) succeeded Kellner as chief in 1902, and it was from this point that it became an order actually in operation. While Kellner had traveled in the East and brought the tantric knowledge, Reuss was another typical continental Freemason and occultist. Among others, the HOGD Westcott, John Yarker (1833-1913) of Memphis-Mizraim, and a co-founder of Leopold Engel (1858-1931) in the Order of the Illuminati were incorporated. Efforts were energetic Reuss OTO to spread around the world, many famous occultists of the time were one way or another linked to or OTO Reuss, eg: Papus, Rudolph Steiner, Jack W. Parsons, L. Ron Hubbard, Gerald Gardner, George Plummer, Israel Regardie, Ben Kadosch (Carl Wilhelm Hansen) (1872-1936), Heinrich Traenker, Friedrich Mellinger (1890-1970) among others. The Order was brought to the Americas by Charles Stansfeld Jones (Frater Achad) (1886-1950), an eccentric character who propagated the dawn of the Aeon of Maat, also involved in activities Rosicrucian orders are now claiming their origin from Jones. OTO consists of a large number of esoteric tradtições, and they never emphasize the aspect Rosicrucian above other elements. The Rosicrucian power was increased only during the period of Reuss, who was considered Rosicrucian - also by Hartmann and Krumm-Heller, as well as some other occultists outside the OTO. Representatives has been referred to as the OTO Ordo Rosae Antiquus Arcanus Rubeæ & Aureæ Crucis . That did not stop them from organizing a separate body within the OTO called L'Ordre des Rose-Croix Esoteriques , which was listed among the participants of the spiritual and esoteric Masonic convention of 1908 is interesting to note also that Krumm-Heller's FRA was operating as a branch of the OTO. In fact, Reuss said the "roots" of the Rosicrucians OTO in one of his letters (1921) to HS Lewis. This was also admitted by the OTO Reuss personally, but distanced himself some time later when Crowley became the head of the order. Lewis seems to have disregarded Crowley, perhaps for trying to get him to AA, and he also wanted to join forces against Clymer, a common enemy. After several incidents of communication, was not successful, Crowley became hostile toward Lewis, and still wanted to be contrátio AMORC. Rosicrucian Another draw for the OTO, is that they may have lineages arising from HBL and FL.However, as the name implies, OTO is considered an heir to the tradition of the Knights Templar. When Crowley took over the organization in 1924, the OTO Rosicrucian aspect was not emphasized at all. Indeed, Crowley gave a complete restructuring organization in both content and shapes. Not everyone saw it to your liking, so multiple branches parted. Additionally, Crowley had a hard time trying to track down many of the other branches of the anterior area Reuss, who had fallen into oblivion. Post-OTO Reuss strains are at least controversial. Some people state that Crowley was not the heir by Reuss, and from that time to the present, many groups divided claiming to represent the true order. Most modern versions are Thelemic OTO, which technically means that they recognize changes in Crowley. There are groups still active in Switzerland, which derive from the OTO Reuss. One such group was led by Herman Joseph Metzger (1919-1990). 's best known and perhaps most genuine branch of modern OTO is a Thelemic organization located in California, created by Grady Louis McMurtry (1918-1985) around 1979, after traveling to collect the remains of what is left of the practice of Crowley, Karl Johannes Germer (1885-1962), was not interested in expanding the order, and therefore decreased in quantity and activity. McMurtry revived the Agape Lodge , which had originally been created in California by Wilfred Talbot Smith (1885-1957). Due to the efforts of McMurtry, order once again spread across the world, and the headquarters moved to New York. Besides working with the Thelemic version of Crowley, she is still very much influenced by its ancient Masonic roots. She is also involved in the work of a Thelemic version of the Gnostic Church. About ten years ago, the OTO McMurtry battled in court with a Brazilian version called Societas Ordo Templi Orientis ( SOTO). SOTO was led by Marcelo Ramos Motta (1931-1987), and claimed to be authentic heir of Crowley's OTO. Marcelo and his father Samuel Cantarino Motta were members under the "Commander" Duval Ernani de Paula. The Mottas sought contact Clymer after the death of Krumm-Heller, because the Brazilian rejected the guidance of Clymer. Motta went to Germany in 1952 to see Parsifal Krumm-Heller, who in turn referred him to Karl Germer, a former associate of Arnoldo Krumm-Helller. Germer was, like his boss Crowley, as opposed to the open use of the term "Rosicrucian" said Motta and to break with the "Commander", which he did. The outcome of the trial between Motta and McMurtry, was that the OTO McMurtry won the legal right to use the name and publish the works of the order. Numerous other groups that claim to authenticity, but in the USA, the OTO McMurtry has rights unique to the legal name. It is beyond doubt that the OTO is one of the most respectable orders as well as noticeable today. The reason for both his fame and controversy is mainly due to Crowley. Whatever you think about him and his works (most of which are published), it must be admitted that he has been one of the most influential occultist of the last century, especially for newer generations.

Alchemical society of France (Société de France Alchimique)
Foundation: 1896
Was headed by eccentric alchemist and obscure writer, Count François-Jollivet Castelot ( 1874-1939 ). Some of the members are well-known characters like Gerard and Philippe Encauss, HE Lalande, Charles Barlet, Paul Sedir, Stanislas De Guaita, Tabris, etc. At one time the Alchimique Société de France was one of theFaculté des Sciences Hermetiques . Jollivet-Castelot was also associated with other orders, as the AMORC, the Martinist order, OKRC, OHMT, OARC. Jollivet-Castelot even founded a "non-materialist Communist Union" organization called, as an alternative to atheistic domination "Socialist International". August Reichel, another esoteric involved in various continental orders, also an associate of Reuss, was a faithful disciple of Jollivet-Castelot. Reichel was also the Grand Master of a very interesting and obscure order called theBrotherhood of the Illumined Brethren of the Rose-Croix (Brotherhood of Illuminated Brethren of the Rosy Cross). August Strindberg was another disciple of Jollivet-Castelot, was the brain behind a popular occult magazine that has existed since 1875, called l'Hyperchimie . Sedir was the editor in chief and Jollivet Castelot was the manager. From 1904 to 1914, the review was published under the name of Nouveaux de la Science et de la Pensée horizons (New horizons of science and thought). In 1920, he became La Rose-Croix . This journal, which was the Rosicrucian version of L'initiation , announced the formation of FUDOSI in 1934, and also published the Fama -Lewis and Jollivet Castelot. His alchemical society does not seem to have survived, but many of his books that explain their occult and political work still exist. Some of the alchemical work continued in the classes of AMORC, especially by Frater Albertus (Albert Reidel Richard) and Orval Graves. It also seems that the modern organization of alchemy, "natural philosophers" is reissuing some of the work Jollivet-Castelot and ideas.

Rosicrucian Fellowship (Rosicrucian Fellowship)
Foundation : 1909-1911
Founded by Louis Carl Fredrik Grasshoff (later adopted the name Max Heindel) (1865-1919) and Dane in the United States, does not claim the title of "Rosicrucian Order". Just a school exhibition of its doctrines and preparation for the individual for entry into deeper spiritual paths in the Order, and the true Rosicrucian Order works only in the spiritual worlds is considered. Unlike most of the Rosicrucian organizations, schools of Max Heindel consider inseparable from Christianity considering it as the only true universal religion and Christ as the only savior, hence it is more properly called Rosicrucian Christianity, or sometimes esoteric Christianity .Other Rosicrucian organizations also consider themselves Christian, but not with this emphasis.
Heindel had been a former student of the Yugoslav / Austrian creator of anthroposophy, the "Rosicrucian" Dr. Rudolph Steiner (1861-1925). The "tables of homes and Rosicrucian ephemeris", is a creation of movement and astrology that are part of their teachings. Your magazine is called "Rays of the Rosy Cross." The order has also been editor of several books, including works by Heindel, and his magnum opus called "The Rosicrucian Cosmo-Conception." This brotherhood does not work in stores, but in churches, and resembles more a religion than an order. There are a few criteria for membership, for example, they do not admit professional hypnotists, astrologers and diviners. Its original headquarters in Seattle, but later moved to Oceanside, California, where it is still located.

Order of the Temple of the Rosy Cross (Order of the Temple of the Rosy Cross - OTRC)
Foundation: 1912
It was founded in London by Annie Besant (1847-1933), Marie Russak (known for Hotchener) (1865-1945) and H. Wedgwood (). The members of this order were strongly constituted by Theosophists and Freemasons (Le Droit Humain ), as its leaders were also very active in these groups. They worked with transcendental ceremonial magic, and claim to be representing Templarism and Rosicrucianism (which they regarded as closely related). His teachings may be perceived as Theosophy presented through a Rosicrucian framework.OTRC was not only a doctrinal order, but were also involved in various cultural activities. The order was not widespread, however they had a Norwegian subsidiary in 1914 It seems that the order was dissolved around 1918.Annie Besant |

Ancient and Mystical Order of the Rosy Cross (Antiquus Ordo Ros Mysticusque æCrucis - AMORC)
Foundation: 1915
Undoubtedly the Rosicrucian order increased activity and expansion today. It was founded in America by Harvey Spencer Lewis (1883-1939).
It is the largest existing Rosicrucian fraternity in number of members and countries in which it has active members. This denomination is the simplification of Ancient and Arcane Order of the Red Rose and the Golden Cross. In its current form the Rosicrucian was restored in the early twentieth century, precisely in 1915 scientist, writer, philosopher, painter and mystic, the HS LewisAssumed responsibility to reactivate the Rosicrucian Order in North America. Under his guidance we built the Rosicrucian Park in San Jose, California, and AMORC flourished worldwide.
According to AMORC, its origins date back to the ancient Egyptian mystery schools alleged. It is regarded as the founder of the Rosicrucian tradition Pharaoh Thutmose III, of the eighteenth dynasty, around 1350 BC the pharaoh would have founded a secret brotherhood, with the aim of studying the mysteries of life. The Rosicrucian Fellowship is not yet self so termed, was officially established in the El Amarna pharaoh Amenhotep IV, Akhenaten. AMORC will discuss more about in future posts.Harvey Spencer Lewis |

This brotherhood was founded by George Alexander Sullivan (1890-1942) . Some see it as a continuation of the Order of Twelve (esoteric society), directed by Sullivan between the years 1911 to 1914 and again in 1920.
I nicialmente this brotherhood worked in region Liverpool, then in 1935 in Christchurch in New Zealand. Claim to be the only true Rosicrucian group, something characteristic of your point of view usually extreme.
It is postulated a Gnostic and pagan tradition and its teachings can be defined as religious and Christian. It requires total commitment from its members, and vetoed the participation in other orders.
Tried to approach the Rosicrucian, where in 1929 they brought the head of the Dutch subsidiary to school fraternity, and this practice of attracting members of other fraternities was barred in 1930 by Stok-Huizer. From there they founded a joint independent in 1935 under the name Rozekruisers Genootschap (Rosicrucian Socidade).Leene died in 1938, but Stok-Huizer continued to write many books.During World War II, they are forced to stop their activities, but then in 1945 was created the School of the Rosicrucian d'Ouro.
