Magnus Carlsen's amazing double bishop sacrifice Mikhail Tal like chess game at the age of 12!

An astonishing attacking masterpiece from Magnus Carlsen when he was just 12 years old. The game is reminiscent of some of the great attacking gems of Mikhail Tal. Magnus Carlsen first sacrifices one bishop, and then another bishop soon after. It becomes apparent that Black's queenside resources cannot participate in the defence of the king. They had been previously cut off by Magnus establishing an aggressive pawn chain in the center of the board. Magnus is able to force through a mating net at the end in spectacular fashion. Engine inspection of this game using the very strong Stockfish engine indicates the soundness of White's play. Magnus's intuition for the strength of the attack is correct. White was able to utilise the g-file with the rooks very quickly connected in conjunction with a lethal knight manoever, where they might even have been an improvement over Magnus's play with Nb5. But this is a testament to the strength of White's attacking position that there were various ways to win the position after the double bishop sacrifice. An amazing game which shows the sheer attacking potential of Magnus Carlsen, and understanding of the dynamics of king safety vs material. Magnus shows with this game why he started to be nicknamed the "Mozart of Chess".
